Those two of you that are comming to this website, accourding to Google Analytics (which means: I at home and I at work), have noticed that there is a new theme on the site. Nothing more to say about that.
I've been spending two days at home in bad health, meanwhile I've been catching up to some great video podcasts.
If you have the chance look at these video podcasts they are great. There are more podcasts on revision3.com that are promising. I'm have að
HTPC at home using
MediaPortal, there I download these podcasts automatically so I view these shows just like any other tv show. I wouldn't be surprise if 20% of the shows I'll be watching at the end of the year will be video podcast. Ofcourse these video podcasts will never compete with million dollar shows like Lost & 24 but with items like
Apple TV I think the power will shift and we will see totally different market in 5-10 years.

I've been trying
SubSonic 2 for few days now and it looks pretty cool, I had some problems with updating and deleting record but that seems to be fixed by now. I think that about a two year or so we will be very close to let a website generate it self just by database. SubSonic is pretty far from there but I can defenently see it in the future.
Added few links to the site, just what I remeber at the moment

We are starting to use
Amazon S3, and at this moment we have uploaded about 20% of our photos, or about 160 GB. The total images that we have are about 9 million so it will take some time before we finish uploading every photo. Most of those files are comming from users on barnaland.is and after few days I plan have the web display the image from Amazon S3 if it's available.
There are few reasons why I'm doing this. First I saw the blog from the CEO of
SmugMug,
Don MacAskill where it talks about that his company has saved over
$500.000 in 6 months. Well I don't expect to save that amout of money but I belive it will save some money. The price is pretty good, $0.15 for every stored gb per month and $0.2 for every gb transfered in/out. Right now we are paying about $0.34 for the gb transfer and transfering about 3 Terabytes per month. Hopefully one day we will be able to get rid of our storage unit and just save the files on Amazon S3. The price on each gb stored is harder to calculate but it's higher then $0.15 per gb, plus it's safer than it could ever be stored by us.
I'm just hoping that Google, Microsoft and maybe some other big company will enter this market, to drive the price even lower.

Jæja, þá er maður komin með nýjan stað í þessum heimi. Var alltaf með ingig.com en drullaðist ekki til að greiða það á réttum tíma þannig að þeir vildu rukka mig 100$ bara til að fá lénið aftur. Ég keypti því ingig.net fyrir 85$ í 10 ár.
Sjáum svo til hvort ég eigi eftir að nenna að uppfæra þetta eitthvað, planið er að hafa þetta ensk/íslenskt
